The Agonist interview with Alissa vocalist for the band interview by Sean WWTO

http://www.myspace.com/theagonist
http://www.theagonist.net

First off i would like to thank Alissa and The Agonist for taking the time out to do this interview with Worldwidetakeoverzine

how long has the band been together?

About 4 years.

how did the band come to be known as The Agonist and who thought up the
name as well and is there any special meaning behind the band name ?

We were originally called The Tempest, but decided to change the name
for a number of reasons. The Agonist fits with the music and message.
An agonist can be "the one caught in between".. not the antagonist or
protagonist.. the one who is conflicted.. which reflects the duality
of our music. Agonist is also the name of a pharmaceutical drug used
to induce feeling.. which reflects our message.

are any of the members in side projects other than The Agonist?

I was in another band called D.N.A for a while, but right now we are
all completely committed to The Agonist, although I do frequent guest
vocals.

do some of the fans who havent seen you before shocked when they realize the band is fronted by a female when you take the stage?

Haha.. yeah, that happens a lot. People who aren't used to us think I
use effects or a special mic. It's just me and my vocal chords!

is this the original lineup and if not what is the current lineup?

No, we had a different drummer before, but now we have Simon on drums,
Danny on guitar, Chris on bass and me, Alissa, on vocals.

is there a large and thriving scene in the Montreal Quebec area as well as throughout Canada?

I'm not sure about the rest of Canada, but in Montreal, the metal
scene is so full it is over-saturated. Tons of great venues, bands and
fans.. but it seems the crowd gets spread thin, especially when bands
don't support each other.

in only one sentence describe your bands sound to someone who has never heard you before?

Anger and terror; emotion and attitude; melody and madness; metal with
a heart and a brain.

when the band is on tour in the van and or bus what is usually playing in the cd player?

We don't have a cd player! We either hook up the laptop or the ipod
through the van stereo. We usually just play local band's cds that we
pick up along the way, or any variety of music coming out of our ipods
(Arch Enemy, Rise Against, The Haunted, Emperor, Muse, etc..) I like
talk radio though!

what do you base your lyrics on when writing new material?

I usually base my lyrics on a subject that stirs up emotion in me. I
always carry around a notebook, so that whenever an issue does arise I
can jot down the exact words that come to mind. It usually involves
injustices, large and small, but I am also including personal and more
obscure political topics as well.

is the whole band vegan and if yes is it difficult touring with non vegan bands?

No, I'm the only vegan.. so I'm always the outcast and I'm just used
to it that way.

how were you first exposed to the scene and what made you say i want to be in an band?

My friend's band needed a singer! It was a very in-the-moment decision for me.

when on tour and driving from city to city and country to country what is some of the weirdest shit you have seen happen or pass by

I think when we passed by 4 cows sitting in the middle of the high
way.. that was pretty weird... or when we got lost and found ourselves
suddenly surrounded by a dog, a cat and a horse... there have been a
lot of weird things!

who are some of the bands main musical influences?

There are too many to name!

how many cds eps 7 inches split cds and demos has the band currently released?

Just one, Once Only Imagined.

who are some of the up and coming bands from the Montreal Quebec area as well as throughout Canada that we should be on the lookout for?

The Plasmarifle, Mythosis, Synastry, Badflirt, etc..

the term hardcore has become so overused that any band putting a breakdown into a song is considered hardcore but explain to the readers what hardcore means to you?

I completely agree. I didn't even realize I had anything to do with
hardcore until the word was shoved down my throat. I like aggressive
music. I'm not going to sit around like some metal-heads, afraid of
breakdowns, afraid of melody. Music is music, get over the need to
title everything and just enjoy.

where do you see this band in 3 years from now?

No idea. Hopefully further along than we are now.

How can the readers from around the world contact you about ordering merchandise?

On our myspace: www.myspace.com/theagonist

What is your most memorable show and why?

I liked Quebec City and Houston with Sonata Arctica. Great crowds.

what is your favorite city and country to play shows in and also your least favorite and why?

I love playing in Montreal because I get to go sleep in my own bed,
and I hate playing New York because it's too stressful with all the
traffic and stuck up people.. although there are some people I adore
that live there too.. so I don't want to generalize.

what are your views on fighting at shows ?

Well... music is a powerful catalyst. It evoked emotions, sometimes
not the right ones.. and people get too involved and carried away. I
think fighting is natural but also very dangerous and pointless.

What advice can you give to some of the newer bands starting out that maybe having a tough time and thinking about giving up?

Giving up is the easy way out, trust me I've thought about it. I would
say, enjoy the journey. Sure you might not become an instant success
and a millionaire, but you will have years of enjoying pursuing a
dream.

Who are some of the bands that you enjoy touring with?

Enslaved was lots of fun, Arsis too. God Forbid are cool too, and of
course fellow Montreal bands would be fun.

Where else other than myspace can the readers go to find out about upcoming shows and other band related information?

I think we have a facebook page and a webpage but the myspace is the best bet!

where do you think you would be right now had you not been exposed to the hxc metal scene?

Probably getting a master's in University.. not sure which subject...
I love school way too much!

what is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to the band when playing a set?

Hmm... When you play so many sets it kind of gets all blurred together
after a while! I know that we all run into technical difficulties, but
that's to be expected when you have zero help!

if the band could have anyone do guest vocals on the next cd with you who would it be and why?

Oooo.. I would like to have Courtney Love or maybe Sebastian Bach.

what is the worst injury that any of the band has had happen when playing show?

Chris knocked me right out with his bass once! I played the rest of
the set lying on the ground!

Chris: When my bass came flying back at me after it had hit the giant
p.a. and my tuning peg hit me right in the lip. Was bleeding pretty
bad i thought i needed stitches.

for someone who has never seen The Agonist live what can they expect to see especially if attending a show in Montreal Quebec area ?

We like to have fun and interact with the audience... they can expect
great music and lots of fun with no superiority complex between band
and fans.

what type of shows do you prefer the arena auditorium shows or the small intimate club venues without barricades?

I love small intimate shows, but its nice to have a huge audience as
well. I think I prefer the bigger shows just because there is more
likely to be a good sound man and p.a. at those venues!

how did you come to being signed to Century Media Records and how have they treated you so far especially with touring and merchandise while on the road?

They heard our album and liked it so much that they signed us. They treat us like their children... a nice balance of discipline and nurturing.

is the band in the process of writing a new album at the moment

Yes we are! And it's going great! Pretty different from the first but
I think it's way better.

what countries does the agonist hope to tour in throughout 2008 and 2009?

ALL OF THEM!

do you have any upcoming shows that you would like to mention to the readers

Well.. just keep updated by checking in with us at our www.myspace.com/theagonist

is there anything else that you would like to add that i might have forgotten to ask that the readers would find interesting or like to know?

nope! Good job!

Born To Hate interview By Sean WWTO

http://www.myspace.com/borntohatehc
http://www.fotolog.com/born_to_hate_hc
borntohatehc@gmail.com

First off i would like to thank all the members of Born To Hate for taking the time out to do this interview with Worldwidetakeoverzine

How did the band come to be named Born To Hate and is there any special meaning behind the band being named this

We didn’t have any name when we started the band. We started practising with a cover of Death Threat’s song called “Life Sentence” and the chorus is “Born to hate”, and we liked it as a name of the band. Hate is a natural feeling of persons that are aware about the unfair and cruel things that are caused by humanity, and it is also a feeling towards the hypocrisy of people. It’s a tough name, but it’s fun.

who are some of the bands main musical influences

We don't really have special bands that influence our music. Our style is a mix from NYHC, metalcore and maybe street punk. We are compared to different styles as NJ and NYC Hardcore and Beatdown from the late 90..s, but we are mainly compared to Madball.

are any members in side projects other than Born To Hate

The guitar player is also in a band called Drama.

what are your views on fighting at shows

We don’t want fighting at shows. It doesn’t happen usually.

what are some of the reactions of promoters when finding out that the band is all female

Promoters that organize shows and tell us to play already know that we are girls! Maybe when they know us for the first time, in the myspace or something, they get surprised. We think they tell us to play because of our music and attitude.

how long has the band been together?

We started the band a couple of years ago but during the first year we couldn't do much, because some members left the band and we didn't have time to meet all together to practice. But we wrote some songs and played a couple of shows. The band was completed when Bere joined the project, and that's when BTH really began.

how many cds eps 7 inches split cds and demos has the band currently released

We have a 5 songs MCD. It’s our first release, and it took a lot of effort to do it.

what do you base your lyrics on when writing new material

We base our lyrics on things that happens to us or things that happen in the world and concern us. We are always inspired in personal experiences - bad and painful experiences always- and thoughts, we never try to emulate something that doesn't belong to us (sometimes the language, but not the message).

We have two different kinds of lyrics. Those who talk about personal things: disappointment caused by people who you consider friends, the friends you lose through the time without any reason, the shit that is in the scene,... and also social topics: feminism -nothing really changed in the patriarchy- globalization of capital –wars, dispossession and passivity-,... For example George Orwell's "1984" is an inspiration for the lyrics of a new song of Born to hate, we adapt the control of the ideas he described to the current society. Totalitarism and the current hegemony of the neoliberal model have much in common. Recently we are writing songs about immigration laws, racism and social exclusion.

is there a large and thriving scene in the Barcelona area as well as throughout Spain

Our scene is little and big at the same time. In a big show there are a lot of people but usually shows, we can have 50-150 people. It all depends on what you think the scene is. The business is growing, and this music is a trend for new kids to follow, but there is a "real" scene because some promoters, bands, labels, distros, etc, work hard just to keep it alive. The scene in Barcelona is much divided, and there are people that don’t care about the hardcore scene, just listen to some bands they download from the internet. There’s passivity, lack of interest. We would like that Barcelona's scene would be more open minded, a place for everyone. We'd like to feel comfortable always and feel free to enjoy wherever and whenever. It's not always like that. But obviously there are a lot of good things that make it special.

how can the readers from around the world contact you about ordering merchandise and cds

In our Myspace. There we published a blog with some shops and distros that sell our stuff. And obviously, come to shows! http://www.myspace.com/borntohatehc

how did the band come to be signed to Fragment Records and also with Cruzade Records and how have they treated you so far

We signed to Fragment because he was interested in supporting us even though he didn’t know us personally, and that’s very cool, and it’s difficult to find for a first release. Cruzade Records is run by one friend of the band, and it’s nice to work with someone that has supported the band since the start. It’s been easy to be with them, they have treated us great and the record is doing well.

is this the original lineup and if not what is the current lineup

At the beginning, there was another singer -we were two singers-, and there was another girl in the bass when we started to practise. But we can say that Born to hate started with the current line up, because we started to play and practise regularly and have important projects and experiences.

if you could have anyone do guest vocals on your next recording who would it be and why

We have several favourite singers. But we would chose Freddy or Roger Miret because they speak Spanish.

does the band have any plans to tour the USA in either 2009 or 2010

Maybe, these plans are not forthcoming but we have the desire to play over the world. We want to play especially in USA and Latin america someday.

in only one sentence describe your sound to someone who has never heard you before

New furious and tuff European Hardcore.

when the band is on tour in the van what is usually playing in the cd player

When we play outside Barcelona the driver brings the music and she plays cds of new releases of current bands, and cds of bands that we are going to see live soon. This weekend we were on the road and we listened to Embrace by hatred, Last to remain, Furious styles, Surge of fury, Wisdom in chains, Folsom, Billy club sandwitch, Everybody gets hurt… and also some classics like Blood for blood or Madball and some punk. And Slumlords, it’s our favourite for the road. Of course, we also play the radio and flamenco songs.

how were you first exposed to the scene and what made you say i want to be in an band

We started in the scene separately, but the common thing is that we all started going to local bands’ shows and listening to the tapes and cds that other friends gave to us, so it started in a very special way.

It’s difficult to say, it’s not anything special that makes you being in a band, it’s just that you would like to be playing on the stages as the bands you see. It’s about involving actively in the music. But when you try it and start playing an instrument, is when you find things that make you want to continue with it, that’s when you see if you really like it. Starting to play is easy, the difficulty is when you have to work hard for the band.

when on tour and driving from city to city what is some of the weirdest shit you have seen happen or pass by

Weird things happen in other cities and also playing in Barcelona. In Toulouse, the guys made a human pyramid while we were playing. In the last show in Barcelona, we all sang “happy birthday” during the show.

where do you see the band in 3 years from now

Touring USA and Latinamerica as we told above, hahaha. We see oursleves with a lot of more cool songs, touring and traveling everywhere, with two more albums and good instruments. And with a van with dark glasses. These are our dreams. And with a better English level to answer interviews.

who are some of the up and coming bands from the Barcelona area as well as throughout Spain that we should be on the lookout for

Born to hate, of course. Also Secret army, Anal hard, A Cuchillo, Oppugno, … and old bands as Proudz and Ownfight. Check the bands we have as friends in our Myspace.

the term hardcore has become so overused that any band putting a breakdown into a song is considered hardcore but explain to the readers what hardcore means to you

We have a song that talks about that. The point is that hardcore is supposedly motivated by incomformism with this world when this society doesn't tread you well. We mean, the difficulties, the exclusion, the lack and cutting of rights drives to the needing to do something different than being a model worker/consumer. When things are easy, when people don't need to fight and everything is taken for granted, people don't pursue an exit, and all this becomes a fashion induced and integrated by the model of society we live in. That's hardcore for us, an alternative way of doing things; it’s about relationships and mutual supporting.

What is your most memorable show and why

We really cannot choose the best show but we prefer Toulouse’s because people danced all the time.

where else besides myspace can the readers go to to findout about upcoming shows and other band related information

We use myspace to give that information. The label’s myspaces (Cruzade and Fragment) also update the upcoming shows. And we’ve done a dozen interviews to fanzines but we don’t know how to get them.

Who are some of the bands that you enjoy touring with

By now, we’ve travelled alone when we go outside Barcelona.

What advice can you give to some of the newer bands starting out that maybe having a tough time and thinking about giving up

Give up, nobody will miss your band. Hahahaha. We would say to good new bands that they need to do some effort to succeed; it’s not good that bands disappear so rapid. If you do that, you’ll be demonstrating a lack of motivations and poor roots. The real spirit lasts. Anyway, there are some newer bands that shoud give up in our opinion…

for someone who has never visited Spain before and is considering traveling there for 5 days what cities and sites would you recommend for them to visit and why

We recommend not to visit the most touristic places, not to visit the shopping downtowns and the touristic resorts. It’s killing the cities. Barcelona has a lot of great things, you can see good architecture and nice nightlife. Madrid is also nice, and Bilbao has a great older center. You could also want to go to the beach, so search for a nice beach town in Costa Brava, Galiza or Andalucia.

where do you think you would be right now had you not been exposed to the hxc metal scene

We don’t know, but we don’t think we would be playing in a band if it’s not this kind of music.

what is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to the band when playing a set

The most embarrassing thing is when people are quiet all the time. Also, seeing drunk people dancing and falling down to the floor and getting hurt. In a recent show there was a really embarrassing moment when one string of the guitar broke.

why do you think that people always associate violence with hardcore shows and it always gives hxc scenes and shows a bad reputation

Maybe they want to crucify this music and the violent dancing. And they pretend to be so politically correct that they don’t see that it is fun. And that’s a way to express oneself.

Do you have any upcoming shows that you would like to tell the readers about

We don’t know when the interview will be published. So check us out www. myspace. com/borntohatehc or write to us at borntohatehc@gmail.com and ask.

Is there anything else that you would like to add that i may have forgotten to ask that the readers should know about

After 30 questions, there’s no left to tell!

I want to thank all the members of Born To Hate for taking the time out to do this interview with Worldwidetakeoverzine
Thank you very much for giving us the chance to tell our opinion, and thanks for supporting!

From My Hands Interview with Norman one of the vocalists for FMH interview By Sean WWTO

http://www.myspace.com/frommyhands

First off i want to thank Norman and From My Hands for taking the time out to do this interview with Worldwidetakeoverzine

How did the band come to be named From My Hands

That actually was an idea of our ex-guitarist Patrick Temme. He came up with that name at a rehearsal back in the days and we decided „Okay, that fits!“.

what is the meaning behind the song Myspace Famebitch

Well that's quite simple. A few months ago I've been sitting here at my computer, was checking my myspace and saw so many different profiles from girls showing their tits to the internet, people talking shit about others on public profiles, posers who don't even know what hardcore is but acting like they had it given since their birth. I was totally fucked up of that shit. I took a paper and wrote the lyrics. We want to tell the Internet-Shittalking-Posershit-World with this song, that they can fuck off and die! Haha

who are some of the bands main musical influences

I think that's one of the hardest questions you can ask. All of us listen to different kinds of music. We meet at the same point, and that is hardcore in general. But there are different influences. I prefer bands like Crawlspace, Copykill, Drift, Shattered Realm, Irate ... and many more. But I wouldn't say that we use them as a main influence. We just play what we want to and what we think that sounds good. The influences are quite different in the band. Our other singer for example likes Iron Maiden and bands like that... Our drummer is listening to Black- and Deathmetal a lot. So our influences are really different from person to person.

for some of the readers who are not sure could you explain to them what DRM is and what it stands for

Actually the DRM is the crew of our drummer and me. It's a foundation based on friendship and loyalty. We know each other for a long time and we know that we can count on our guys. So that's the main thing in this crew. We're just friends, hangin around together and stand under one flag if you know what I mean.

are any members in side projects other than FMH

Yeah! Our drummer plays the drums for Gunned Down, too. Our guitarist Jens and me are playing guitar for Reduction. I played in Fallbrawl for a short time on drums, as their old drummer suddenly left them, too. But they found a good drummer now, so they can handle their stuff without me.

how long has the band been together

We've been together for five years now. But not in the current lineup. There are only 2 members of the first lineup left. Our other singer Thomas and myself.

how many cds eps 7 inches split cds and demos has the band currently released

We released one full lentgh, From Hatred To Justice. The new Split-CD with Gunned Down on Massive Bloodshed Records. And in 2003 we had a 3-Song-Demo, maybe you still can find the songs at the internet, but we never sold them really, was just for download cause the quality was crap.

for someone who has never seen FMH live before and is going to be attending a show in Ruhrport what can they expect to see?

A band who loves to party on stage, an energetic live-performance, some crazy people goin' ill in front of the stage and some funny and stupid shittalking by two singers haha

what do you base your lyrics on when writing new material

We base our lyrics on personal experiences. Things that we saw, that we had to live with, or simply things that we might think about. In fact all lyrics are different. We don't write lyrics one like the other... Theres not really a concept. Just writing what goes on in our mind.

is there a large and thriving scene in the Ruhrport area as well as throughout Germany

Yeah, for sure! The german scene (especially in the Ruhr-Area) has got so many different and cool bands. So many people who go to all the shows and support all that stuff. And there is no end in sight yet. I like that, because the scene is growing more and more. You can see this process every year at Pressure Fest here in Germany. There are more and more people from year to year who hang around there and enjoy all the great bands. But unfortunately there are some bands who only play 2-chord Beatdown because they think it's kinda cool. But it's not! Haha And a new one of those bands is coming out of the ashes nearly every day. Thats the other side. But I think you can live with that when you know so many great people and bands!

what are your views on fighting at shows

For me thats quite simple... when there is a reason to fight: fight! But I think I can speak for my whole band when I say that 20 on 1 fights in front of the stage when the band plays, are not really cool. It's way better to let the aggressions out in the pit and go crazy there as punching your hate into someones face. If it's necessary, ok! But there are a lot of completely unnecessary fights on shows. But that got better the last few months I think. Not so much fighting anymore.

how did the band come to doing a split cd with Gunned Down and is FMH now also on Massive Bloodshed Records as well

First: Yeah, we are on Massive Bloodshed Records now. And they do their job really good in my opinion. It's a young label but they go their way. Everything's fine!
And the other point: We decided to make a split because our drummer plays at Gunned Down too and we thought about recording a new MCD, but we had only 6 tracks. We wanted to give a good thing for their money to the people. So we decided to make the split. We're good friends with Gunned Down and share the rehearsal room with them, so that idea wasn't really far away.

is this the original lineup and if not what is the current lineup

No, it's not! Actually most of the original lineup left the band over the years because of work or to go study or they got kicked out because of personal differences. Our current lineup is Thomas Clemens and me, Norman Menz singing (we are the last 2 of the original lineup), Jens Lucaßen and Patrick Lerche playing guitar and Johannes Wegener playing drums. We search for a fix bassist at the moment cause Mirko left the band to concentrate on his other band „Aschera“, we don't know yet if he might come back.

if you could have anyone do guest vocals on your next recording who would it be and why

I can only talk about myself now. I'ld love to do a song with Stephane Kickback because of his fuckin aggressive voice, when we talk about the european scene. International musicians I'd say a feature from Freddy Madball or James Ismean from Fury of V would be cool. Our other vocalist Thomas wants to sing with Ice-T as well haha. But it's a hard question. There are too many really good singers.

How can the readers from around the world contact you about ordering merchandise

They can contact us via Myspace www.myspace.com/frommyhands http://www.myspace.com/frommyhands or via E-Mail info@frommyhands.de mailto:info@frommyhands.de There will be an online shop at www.massivebloodshed.com http://www.massivebloodshed.com too in a few weeks I think.

in only one sentence describe your sound to someone who has never heard you before

A huge explosive punch in the middle of your face, mixed with a swimming pool full of beer and some BBQ in the middle of the highway! HAHAHA

when the band is on tour in the van what is usually playing in the cd player

I don't think that you really want to know that! Haha It depends on who's driving. Most of the time we listen to hardcore or metal. But when worst comes to worst and we got a few beers ready we listen to German partymusic or techno too haha

how were you first exposed to the scene and what made you say i want to be in an band

Good question... I was exposed to the music in the age of 12 or 13 I think from a neighbour. Everything started with Biohazard, Agnostic Front or even bands like Cannibal Corpse etc. That was the time I started to love extreme music. My first show was a Biohazard show with 13 I think. I had to be back home at 10 and I came back at 12. My mom nearly punched me in the face haha That was where everything started. I loved live music, I loved playing guitar and the sum of all that was an own band. So with 14 or 15 I started to play in different bands and it has been fun till today.

when on tour and driving from city to city what is some of the weirdest shit you have seen happen or pass by

haha there are two cool stories I think about directly... Once we were on our way to play a show in Austria. We made a short stop at a parking lot near the German border to get something to eat. The girl at the cashpoint asked if we want to have a bag for the food. But we didn't understand a fuckin word! She talked German, but with such a huge accent (Austrian accent!!! It's the same as Bavarian, not understandable) that we understood a shit. It took a few minutes for us to know what she wanted to say.
And another weird story happened not really on tour but when our other singer and me were on our way home from the studio. We made a break at a parking lot. It was a parking lot, where gay men meet to fuck in the car. But we didn't care and stopped at it... As we stood there and smoked a cigarette a guy came out of his car with a trenchcoat on. Underneath that coat he was completely naked. He went to a thrashcan and threw a condom in there, went back to his car and drove away like nothing happened. We were completely shocked haha

where do you see the band in 3 years from now

Hopefully on a world tour. Haha But that's just dreaming... I'm satisfied when we play a few shows per month all over Europe and maybe a few tours with some cool bands!

who are some of the up and coming bands from the Ruhrport area as well as throughout Germany that we should be on the lookout for

Quite a lot... Gunned Down, Reduction, Brothers in Crime, Fallbrawl, Panzerhölle, Blood by Dayz, THE ICE(!!!), Cheap Thrills... many more. Just check out our friendlist at myspace. There are many cool bands we met all over the years! And they're all great personally!

the term hardcore has become so overused that any band putting a breakdown into a song is considered hardcore but explain to the readers what hardcore means to you

For me, hardcore is more than just music. It's a lifestyle. Hardcore kids got a whole different sight of many things I think. Fashion and Brassknuckles in your myspace profile don't make you hardcore, folks! It's about friendship, havin fun together, be loyal to your friends and family... all these things...

What is your most memorable show and why

Oh we played some real cool shows in the last few months. There was a show in the „Proberäume Duisburg“ where everything and everybody went crazy, moshed us off the stage in some songs and everybody had a lot of fun. That was quite cool! Hamburg in November last year was cool too. They were such a great audience and it was fun to play and hang around there.
And last but not least 2006's show in Austria. We were completely drunk and our show was fucked up as hell. But it was a lot of fun anyways.

where else besides myspace can the readers go to to findout about upcoming shows and other band related information

At the moment our homepage unfortunately is offline. We don't have the time to make a new one... But I think that will come. In a few weeks you can find out more information on www.massivebloodshed.com http://www.massivebloodshed.com I think.

Who are some of the bands that you enjoy touring with

We've never been on tour really with another band. But it was fun to play shows with Gunned Down of course, or with our friends in Fallbrawl, Brothers in Crime, Clobberin Time etc. It's always cool to hang around with all these guys!

What advice can you give to some of the newer bands starting out that maybe having a tough time and thinking about giving up

Go your own way... Fuck shittalking and be yourself. Every band has a tough time in their career. We played shows in front of 10 people who didn't give a single fuck about us playing.... But it doesn't matter. The main aspect of playing in a band should be to have fun with your friends in my opinion. And when you play a show that fuckin sucks, try to get the best out of it. Like I said, every band has a tough time in their career and that shouldn't be a reason to give up what you love to do! Otherwise, when that's a reason for a band to give up, and not to try their best to get out of that mess, they might stop making music in general.

where do you think you would be right now had you not been exposed to the hxc metal scene

I think I would drink way less then now! haha But I'd actually not even made half of the funny experiences that I've made so far now. And we as a band might hang around in our rehearsal room for the rest of our lives, trying to reach anything. I think this „Unity“ in the HxC and Metal scene is a good opportunity for bands to make themselves popular and play in front of many cool people!

why do you think that people always associate violence with hardcore shows and it always gives hxc scenes and shows a bad reputation

I think the people misunderstand the hard way of dancing in some areas. They think it's everything about hurting each other and punch your neighbour in the face. But that's not the deal. That's simply our way of having fun. On the other hand there are some people who turn the hardcore scene into a fuckin fashion show. With all that Poser-Brassnuckle-Wannabe-Gangster shit in the internet etc. Some people don't understand that we're not people walking around with brassknuckles around our fists 24/7, because of those screwheads.
In my opinion it's better to get rid off your aggressions at shows and not to hit people on the street without any reason, cause you don't like their faces or whatever.
And in fact I hurt myself more on shows than any other one I might hit during a show when I dance hard. haha

Do you have any upcoming shows that you would like to tell the readers about

We play a show in Viersen at 2nd May 2008 and another show in Bochum at 16th May 2008. You can find more infos about upcoming shows at our myspace page!
